Lance T. Kawaguchi

Lance T. Kawaguchi is Managing Director and Global Head – Corporates for HSBC’s Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) division. In this role, Lance has global responsibility for aligning GLCM across HSBC Corporate clients to provide integrated solutions across 54 countries and territories.

Additionally, Global Content & Proposal Management and Sales Practice Management Teams report to Lance, responsible for driving the consistent presentation and execution of the HSBC GLCM brand, its mission and vision globally. The teams are responsible for the creation of sales and marketing collateral, aligning global sales and sector strategies as well as financial analysis and management of GLCM’s Global Corporates business.

Lance has been a member of the GLCM Global Executive Committee since May 2017.

In 2017, Lance was one of 2 HSBC individuals included in the prestigious BAME100 Board Talent Index, which recognizes the top Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) leaders in UK businesses. The recognition followed Lance’s inclusion in 2016 as one of 3 HSBC individuals amongst Upstanding’s 100 leading ethnic minority executives published in Financial Times.

Lance brings to this role more than 24 years of leadership experience in investment banking, relationship management, project finance, global markets, cash management, and trade finance across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Lance joined HSBC in September 2015 and is based in London, UK. Prior to joining HSBC, Lance was Global Head of Oil & Gas within the Global Banking division at ANZ Bank (based in Singapore and London). Previous to that, Lance held various executive management roles with Standard Chartered Bank, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and Wells Fargo based in Iraq, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, London, and USA (New York, Chicago, & Houston).

Lance was a speaker at the AI for Longevity Summit 2019.
