Medical Research Council (UK). MRC Cancer Cell Unit R&D Centre
Members of the MRC Cancer Unit are University employees and closely integrated into the academic community of the wider University. As a Unit they take great pride in the supervision of our PhD students who come from all across the world funded through a range of funding schemes including the MRC Doctoral Training Awards, CRUK funded schemes administered through the CRUK Cambridge Centre and scholarships awarded by the Gates and the Cambridge Trusts. There is a strong emphasis on mentorship and each PhD student has a second supervisor and opportunity to gain confidence in presenting and feedback from senior scientists during our fortnightly Work-in-Progress series. There is a vibrant graduate student society who organise a range of social events and host meet the speaker events as an integral part of our Seminars in Oncology series.
